Default Restoring 90' stang

I had my mechanic take care of the Major problems so far... Radiator, thermostat, serpantine belt, Brakes, starter motor on my 1990 Mustang GT 5.0...... It runs and drives now it has 102,000 miles last reported on it's record, with an Odometer rollback so you never really know. It says 07800 on there now. 107k 207K? who knows

But i still have these problems that i want to fix myself. One is that From my right Drivers side wheel there is a low clicking noise, which only happens during turns. We thought it might be the fact that the previus owner put tires that were too large on it - But We got smaller treads, and the noise is still noticible but it doesn't seem to be to the extent of before. Theres also some play in the wheel bearings... Could that be it?

The next problem is i think the transmissions starting to go. It takes a bit of force to get into Reverse, the transmission heat is somewhat noticible, the clutch is starting to go.... I also want to rebuild/get a new transmission becuase The stock torque compacity for my transmission is 300 ft-lbs. Since i'm going to be modifiy the engine for performance, I'm going to need a stronger, better and cleaner shifting transmission. I'm thinking about putting a tremec t-5 tranny that has a 425 Torque compacity. That would be my first modification.

My next plan would to Get a 3 ton jaw,, 2 dozen feet of chain, some type of pulley, and Hoist the engine out. get the engine sprayed with pressurized water to remove all the exterior grime and grease ( i'm not sure where i would go for that?) Next i would strip the engine down to the block. Clean that off, Figure out what parts i can use again... Then i would get a forged crank, New pushrods, Head gaskets and seals, Forged pistons, GT40 heads, I'd hone the cylinder walls a bit,Replace the valve springs, Get a good cam (any reccomendations?) Then i'd get a used GT40 Intake manifold, a 70 mm Throttlebody, summit headers, 3" piping to glasspacks (no cats, so i'm going emissions illegal, i'll find a leniant inspector SOMEWHERE) 42 Lb fuel injectors, holley electric blue fuel pump, a little bit of computer work, and i think i'd be good for an engine, and already had swapped the transmission.

A few months later when my funds start appearing again, I'd get an aluminum Driveshaft, Underdrive pulleys, Short shift kit, 4.11 gears, a battery relocation kit, some guages, Removal of air conditioning and any other power robbers (name some more, please)

The next step would be suspension, New struts, springs, shock absorbers you catch my drift

The next step would Cosmetics.
there are a few paint nicks i'd like to get rid of (mainly on the front) and the sideskirts were painted pretty badly by previus owner(s) and there is small underbody damage nothing serius, so i'd take care of that. Next I would get some fiberglass patching done on the small rust spots on the rear Spoiler. Then I would get a Fiberglass Cowl Induction hood. Then I would look for Some lightweight Racing Wheels and Street legal semi-slicks. Then contact an interior specialist to Fix the small ripholes in my interior. and i'd put new bulbs in my foglights [8D] and any remaining problems i discover.

Now that i have outlined my plan for you I have some questions

What do i do for the Noise in the rear wheel?
Whats a good aggressive camshaft i could get?
Rebuild or tranny swap for 1300? I

PS. I'm 17 and i have limited mechanical knowledge.

ok one at a time
1.have you checked the wheel bearings?, brake assy?
2. have you check the gear oil in the trans?...what about the clutch cable to see if it have stretch or if the quadrant is going?...me I would go with a automatic for faster shift but I use a tramec and it works great
3. why not spend 20.00 to rent and engine pulling from u-haul? a safer way to go
4. if your going to strip the engine just have it cleaned at the machine shop when the machine work is done
5. 3" piping is just to big unless it's turbo'd or supercharged...as is the 423 injector something in the 24# will do!
6. as for computer tuninig look at a used PMS or tweecer RT
7. your gears should be first so a cam selection can be made

I'm either thinking of that or getting a Short block, throwing on new heads and intake manifold, throttlebody...then the tranny swap and Working from there.

after looking around, I decided my best option would be a Ford 302 GT40 engine for $3,300 then get The Trimec T-5 tranny for 1,300... The swap kit for 200, Intake manifold, then get my exhuast, ignition and i'd be set, running 13's probably.

Then later throw on gears, posy, squat bar, and battery relocation and i'd be set for a while.

I noticed you wanted glasspacks, can I ask why you would want them?
