Steering wheel shaking BAD! Help!
I havea 91 Fox with a flaming river manual rack, flaming river steering shaft and knuckles, new rotors and wheel bearings. I have horrible shaking in my steering wheel between 57 and 70mph. Much woarse between 65 and 70. Had the problem before the above mentioned parts where installed. I have also had the tires balanced. I am using a set of 10 holes wheels that i purchased 2nd hand that had the tires on them already. Lots of tread left and the tires appear to be in good shape. I would think if the wheels were warped or the tires where distorted, they wouldn’t have balanced. I guess I could be wrong.
Anyideas?

You probably have a bad balance on the tires. Even they are kind of "out-of-round" they can be balanced, but they won't roll at high speed for ****. Or you could have an out of whack alignment or bad ball joints, just because they're new doesn't mean they're any good, bad parts come out brand new all the time.

I'd put money on the tires/rims... You may have thrown a weight and just becouse the tires look good doesn't mean they are... Typically a shimmy at a certain speed is tires and/or balance... Not to mention most places don't balance tires going 65-70...

Do you have a gear in the car? The guy who had my Fox put a crappy gear in it causing the steering wheel and shifter to shake like crazy right at 70. I put the stock gear back in and it was fine...

i would just start with tires with a good balance, then when u have the wheels off take the greese caps off and make sure your wheel bearings are tight, but still can turn ( you dont wanna overtighten them), then go from there
