Default Moon roof mishap

I made the mistake of taking out the moon roof on my girl friends '89 Hatch and CANNOT get it to seal back. Am I just doing something wrong, do they all do this, can I fix it?

The question is too vague to answer,, is it a factory sunroof? Is it "intended" to be removed or did you unbolt it? My '86 GT had a factory sunroof & it was very straightforward to see how it goes on & off, did anything get bent or broken on it? Maybe post a pic.

It is a factory sunroof. I unlatched the black piece towards the rear of the car and it just slid straight out. Some of my buddies are having the same problem with getting it to seal back. It is really clear how it goes back in. But I'm not sure if it will ever seal completlyagain.

How do you mean it's not sealing? Is it leaking water? On my car the front tabs started getting some rust on them.. Try giving the seals & sealing surfacea really good cleaning, and rub some Armourall or something like that on the rubber seal.

its leaking a lot of water, i had a pond in the drivers seat, you can also hear a lot of wind noise... I tried cleaning it and armoral, the weather stripping looks good but thats about it, no stop of water flow...

Well if you can't figure it out,, and as far as you can tell nothing is broken,, and you can't post a pic of the problem(?),, then maybe take it in to a shop for an inspection they'll probably give you a free estimate of what's wrong
