Default possible electrical / fuel problem

well i posted this in the 4.6 section, but like many threads, it got shoved to the bottom within an hour or so,
so here it goes....

the other day i installed bilstiens and two new fog light bulbs (i noticed one of them was busted not just burnt out)

this same one is less bright than the other one with new bulbs in

anywho....the other day my car died wen i was gettin on the gas, power steering went out, the whole 9 yards

now today my "check fuel cap" light came on, and would not go away (my fuel cap was on secure)
then it turns off about 10 hours later after work and after beening driven for a while

what the hell is going on???

is my fuel pump bad? is there a short? i want some advise before i take it in so i dont get screwed
