can anybody please tell me if i have to notch the engine block (87- 302) for my 331 stroker kit from probe.

nobody seems to be able to give me a straight yes or no. some say yes some say no

please help

Not likely. But, as with any stroker, you'll want to check the clearances upon assembly to verify you'll have no problems.

Even 347's don't always need clearances....depends mostly on the block and the depth of the cylinder walls.

Hey Phil,

My husband has a 337 stroker in his Tiger, which is a 3.3" stroke, .030 over bore, and yes you need to notch the bottom of the bores. Ford Performance Solutions did the machine work on this block. Also, if you have questions aboutyour set-up,you can ask Probe about it since you're getting the stroker kit from them.
