Default IS IT MY FLYWHEEL?

I just installed a spec stage 2 clutch and now when I take off and anytime I release the clutch it chatters. It is really bad in reverse. I had the flywheel turned 10K miles ago when I installed a king cobra clutch. I figured since I just did it it would be O.K. Do you think this is the problem or does the kevlar clutch have to wear in. Thanks

You have a 500 mile break in period that you are supposed to take it easy in stop and go driving. If you've been getting on it since day one, it's probably ruined. You should have resurfaced the flywheel when you put it on too, so it's probably not a true surface which just makes things worse.

had a problem like that in a ford escort...turned out the tranny input shaft was slightly bent.

I have been taking it easy on it since it was installed, I think its been about 500 milesnow. Do you think it will work its way out? The flywheel looked pretty fresh when I took it off. I usually drive the car pretty soft when shifting even with the other clutch. thanks for your help.

It could be due to lack of lubrication on the throw-out bearing. Pop off the inspection plate and look at the bearing, if it's dry, use a ling skinny paintbrush to apply some high temp grease to it.

Your flywheel could be the cause. But, if you didn't have it resurfaced, you may have already lost the clutch plate. Did you clean everything well? Oily fingerprints will cause problems, as well. Which is why a leaky seal in either the tranny input or the rear crank will destroy a clutch so quickly.

Ilubbed everything good, cleaned everything good with brake cleaner, and used a steel retainer. I replaced all seals.
