Default Need help hooking a switch up to the ignition

2001 V6 auto. I'm wanting to hook up some kind of hidden push button switch to my igniton that will have to be pressed in order to start the car. Not sure exactly what wire to hook it to or if it will mess with the vehicles security features. Any info appreciated.

this is so easy to do. I have two older cars that are done up like this. One because the ignition switch failed and was $300 to fixand the other just because i wanted. I'm not sure on the mustang but there are two ways to do this. One is you can locate the positive wire that runs from the solenoid on te starter. That will work but you will still be able to crank it by turning the key. The only other way i know that you could do it, is take the ignition switch out and they're are different terminals on it. One for accessory, one for crank etc...Well you should be able to disconnect the one that cranks and run it to a push button. That way the key still has to be in the ignition but you have to know to push the button or it will not crank. THis is the safest way to do it to keep your car form getting stolen, but it also requires more work, and the knowledge to use a test light or a multimeter.
