Buy a Haynes or Chilton's manual. Step by steps with pictures...and most gotchas.

I would suggest investing in a Haynes manual. The $15 is well worth it in saving time and even money. Plus they cover just about everything with detailed instructions and photos, and tell you how to do work the RIGHT way. Good luck...

Its easy. if you havea 5.0, without long tubes. There are 2 bolts on the starter below youre exhaust manifold on passengers side. Remove the 2 bolts. Of course remove youre battery cables from battery first. then proceed. To replace youre starter solonoid its on youre fender on drivers side, remove the nuts and replace. Make sure to get all nuts very tight, because youre working with high voltage. Thats it.

are you sure both the starter and the solenoid are bad?? I would get this checked out first before you waste money on parts you don't need! it could be as simple as cleaning the main connection at the starter or replacing the main cable to the starter if it's old and gotten lots of corrosion on it as this kills the amperage it can deliver to the starter. when doing any electrical work, always disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable first too. this way if the wrench slips on the postive post, you don't risk getting a big spark and/or shock if it hits the body while still touching the postive post.
