quarter window conversion...
hey, I've been thinking about changing the quarter windows on my '86 to the '87-93 style glass. I really like the clean look of the glass as opposed to the plastic "louvers" that the '86 had. Is there a way to do this? I know the bolts are acessed from the inside so I have to dissasemble the interior panels, I just want to know what I have to do to install it all. is there a special type of window sealer I have to use with the newer window? or will the weather stripping on the 87-83 glass be enough. any input would be great. I want to try to remove the existing windows without breaking them, as i may sell them on ebay or just hold onto them...
thanks

You have to take your interior panels off to access to nuts on the underside...It's funny...on my 87, the holes for the original style 79-86 panels are still stamped into he steel so i could go the reverse of what you are dong if i wanted to. The beleive the glass on the newer style is larger than your galss...you will a have to swap the rubbertrim as well. I personally think your orignal style looks cooler....
oh..if you ever lock your keys inside and have to break a window...break the glass in the door it is cheaper and easier to replace than that little window on the side.
