Hey guys just a quick question. I have a 96 4.6 GT and it won't idle. I left work and it started up just fine, drove home fine, but a few hours later I went out to go somewhere and nothing. If I give it gas it will keep running, but once your foot is off the gas it shuts off. I am guessing in might be a vaccum leak or something, but I just want to see what you all thought. Thanks.

 

clean the IAC and throttle body and see if this doesn't help things out some!

IAC like Roundy said and check out your TPS sensor.

 

It could be the coolant temp sensor.When the engine is warm it runs fine.When it's cold the sensor tells the computer it's warm and the engine won't run untill it warms up.

 

Hey thanks guys. I have been looking my my repair manual and and trying to check voltage and resistance on a few part. I will see it I can clean it and go from there. Thanks again.

 

if that doesn't cure it change the fuel filter
