Tranny acting funny, FWD DD
My 93 LeSabre had the tranny rebuilt about 17K miles ago, just before I got it. My parents put about 5-7 hundred on it before giving it to me. I haven't exactly been gentle with it, to be honest, but I don't 24/7 romp on it.
I noticed the other day, about a week ago, it started shifting really short. First would only go to 15mph, second to 28-ish and it doesn't down shift back to first gear from second if I floor it.
I added a QT of Lucas in a while back and just added another when I first sensed this problem. I figure that I need to drain and fill, but I am worried about doing it. I know how, but I'm afraid when I do I'll wipe the auto-clutch (what the mechanic called it) clean and it will not shift on it's own. This happened in my first car, this is why I am worried.
Any ideas?
BTW, I just did an oil change, about 6k over and was in dire need of an air filter. LOL!
