Default Question For You MT Guys

Im hoping to pick up a 99-04 GT sometime and have a question, do you guys with maual trannys hit your hand when shifting (see pic)

Never happened to me. Do you mean hitting your hand forward on the stereo? Or on the little wide walls next to the shifter? It's a little hard to tell from the pic where the red arrows are pointing.

Only my fingers are on the shifter ****. The tips of my fingers take care of 1-2 and 3-4, while the knuckle on my hand takes care of 2-3 and 4-5. A little pressure from the pinky takes care of down shifting. I've never hit my hand onthe stereo...unless I got carried away and my hand slipped off.

There really isn't a need to get a big ol' white knucklemonkey grip on the shifter.

With a stock shifter there is no way you're gonna hit anything while shifting.. unless you have a sweaty palm & lose grip on the shifter(?)
