99-04 VIN location
Okay well since my car was rebuilt and has a wrecked title I needed it to be inspected by a Minnesota auto inspector and they need to check the VIN number on the engine and the transmission, however they could not find the VIN in the usual places. I e-mailed a salvage yard and they said Ford never put the VIN on the engine or tranny, but I don't know how this is possible. So anyway I am no where near my car, my dad took it to the inspector and has the car back home. If anyone has any idea where the number is located, I would really appreciate it, I kind of need the car inspected to drive it, and I technically needed it 5 months ago [8D]. Thanks
he;s lookin for the vin on the engine and tranny, and if their are any they'd be on tags (on a bolt) but I don't know that their are any tags there. Theirs casting #'s on the parts but the casting #'s are generic to the part.. only thing is if Saleen put tags on the engine but I dont know that they do.
yeah I have the windshield one, but not the engine and tranny one. The inspector tried with a flashlight and mirror, but nothing. If I have to call Saleen I will be screwed, they are most unhelpful.[>:]
okay well they put it up on the hoist and after about an hour, found the VIN tag underneath the engine, of course covered in grime. So i finally have a title for my car
which is very good, but that VIN tag was a b!tch

man I wish I was on earlier I had the same problem with my 99. turns out there is a number under the carpet on the passeger side. I know exactly what you went through but couldn't even find the one on the engine,
