future plans for car

future plans for car
I recently bought a '95 mustang 3.8L and I really like this car so far. I picked it up for 1700 bucks. Near perfect body/paint, great interior, engine is pretty good as far I know. It really just needs minor work.
Now, I bought this car for the price because I still wanted to buy a new bike, but I'm thinking about keeping that extra money to put into this car (now or future).
It has a little over 140k miles, so I have no idea when the transmission or engine will go out (not that there is any indication that they are going to go out anytime soon... the car runs great). As much as I would like to get a 302, I doubt I would have enough $$$ in the case that the transmission were to go out.
So, rebuild engine and/or transmission, buy a new engine or transmission? wait til either goes out?
Or just invest in replacing many parts? (wires, plugs, sensors, etc)
I don't want to put too much money into the car to the point of where I wouldn't be able to get anything back from a resell (not that I plan on selling it).

RE: future plans for car
Go ask this in the V6 section, you will get many many many responses much faster than in the general tech. There are also plenty of threads you could look up for pretty much tons of instant info, instead of asking and waiting. Enjoy the car!
