not a stang ??? but can you help ????
Im a pround owner of a 68 mustang
But my daily driver has let me down 1995 explorer 4.0 auto 150k or so
Its pulls and runs great but the trans sticks in second. I can drive it but i have to let off the gas
and it will shift to thrid. other than that it pulls and runs great.
I took it to a shop and they said its slipping and that needs rebuilt ????????
Im an auto tans guy but if it pulls to me its not slipping
any help would be great

Like colorado_mustang said, I would definately check your modulator.
Doesnt sound like its slipping to me. It might still be going out though. I had a camaro with a turbo 350 that had a similar problem. It would not go into second gear until it warmed up. Once it went into gear it shifted fine until it cooled down again. When i took it to get rebuilt, the shop told me that it was just worn out and needed a rebuild.
