t5 tranny swap
how strong is the one that goes in the 3.8L sixers? I'm planning on swapping out my auto for a 5spd, and wanna use a t-5 for awhile to get it down, and once I save up more money i'll throw in the tko500. I'm planning on doing this myself, seems straight-foward. A lot of the 3.8 guys have done it. Figured eh why not, i'll give it a shot.
I've also contemplated a 3,200 stall + gears and keeping the auto, but I really feel the urge for a 5spd. Anyone against this swap and suggest I just trade? I love my baby and I have invested 800$ into new timing chain tensioners, the new manifold, and I know shes been mantained for the 80,000 miles that are on her. And doing this swap is no real big deal to me, I have most of the proper tools and would rent/buy the few I need.
I think one of these weekends here shortly I'll be buying a case of beer and be getting dirty.
