Default Torque box applications

I have a daily driver 1990 2.3L. As a result of Ohio's salty roads my fame is rusting bad where the lower control arm hits it. I'm thinking of using a battle box as a possible way to reinforce the area to avoid any major fabrications. The damage is exactly where the lower controlarm mounts. The inner edge of the frame is rusted all the way through, the outer edge (where the control arm is mounted) is also extremely rusted and has a visible crack running down it. Right now the only support the lower conrtol arm has is from the opposite side. Does anyone have any input on whther this might work or not? Or if that fails if anyone has a link to a company that sells some sprt of fame restoration support?

Well, despite the lack of help I ended up finding a sleeve that fits around that part of the frame to reinforce it. It's great that every high school kid that gets on here and asks how to supe up his sixer gets fifty replies nad I get jack s***. I'll repost the manufacturer of the control arm reinforcer whenever it arrives.

You didnt even wait a full day before complaining about the lack of responces, sometimes you just have to wait for people like me to come on!!!

www.SummitRacing.com has battle boxes cheap, real cheap! They are about $40 for the upper and $40 for the lower, you have to search their site though and they are not called battle boxes, they are their own brand.

Clean the rust away with a wire brush, see how bad it went, if its cancer or what. It it has not eaten through the metal then weld the new boxes in and buy some POR15 and coat the in-cab panel and welds and coat the outside. This will prevent rust from ever happening again.

Best of luck with everything and I know your just a high school kid but that doesnt mean you cant have some patients! :P

heres another kind of lowers
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-90...97633924QQrdZ1
the flat plate goes on the inside of your car under the back seat and the other piece goes inside the lower torque box and you bolt them together to sandwich the torque box to the body so it wont rip out

and heres the uppers
