Default door lock actuator broke

I am plagued but the stripped door lock actuator on the drivers door of a 2003 vert. I have a new actuator purchased from A1 Auto. After removing the innerdoor panel, gaining access to the lock guts, i can't see how to release the old actuator to remove and replace. Anybody have any enlightenment? thanks in advance,

Default RE: door lock actuator broke

to save some others the time and trouble I'll answer my own post. After an hour of so trying to figure out how the remove the actuator, I found that by removing the three screws that hold the striker plate mechanism to the door (located outside of the door) and all the rods attatched to the door handle, "pull up" lock, and key lock, the whole thing can be romoved out the "window" in the door. It's held by a plastic catch, and after depressing with a small screwdriver, can be slid out of the lock assy. Once one knows what to do, it's less than a 5 min job. having a new one in your hand makes it obvious what holds it in the lock assy. Too bad there was nobody to help me along, as it took several beers looking at it and wondering how to get the rascal out. Hope that my efforts will help the next guy.
