Default Newbie mustang project question

I am new to mustangs and I amlooking to buy a $1500 foxbody mustang project. i was wondering if there is anything i should look for when buying, common problems etc. I know beggers cant be choosers and it wont be perfect. also i am going to look at one with no power to the fuel pump, the owner said it is common on mustangs, i have never heard anything about this and i was wondering if you guys have. any info would be great. thanks

I havnt heard of it either, but if there is a short that will cause the problem. You could be looking at a lot more than just finding the short though.

1.) Check for rust ANYWHERE
2.) Check where the upper and lower controll arms connect, make sure they havnt pulled the bottom away or pushed the top in.
3.) Check suspension peices such as the controll arms for damage
4.) Check the K-Member for damage such as stacking it up on something
5.) Check the CarFax report!

Those are just some basic things to look at when looking for a project, some other items are overlooked because this is a project.

Best of luck with the project!
