Thanks so much everyone, should I just go back to the original intake (2V) and get an addapter for my 4 bbl holley? Also I bought the intake gasket set, can someone tell me the right proccedure of intallation and what kind of sillicon to use. Is it sillicon, then gasket, then sillicon, then tray, then sillicon, then intake?

Thanks again everyone

Honestly you should get a set of 4V heads, you will be so incredibly happy with the new found power in just that simple and cheap swap.

You will need new head bolts, complete valve train (I would get a new cam with a more agressive grind) and of course 4V exhaust manifolds or headers.

Thats the best way to go about it. You can find 4V heads all over for a great price, make sure they are the high compression 4V heads though, a set of 71' 4V head should be a good bet that they are high compression. I believe that the lowest is a 52cc head which came on the 71' Mach1 4V.

For a good set of bolt on heads you are probably looking at $300, you can find manifolds all day long for under $50 (Headers are of course more expensive) Bolts can be bought at Autozone and a cam anywhere you want. You will spend about $500 for the swap w/o headers and probably $800 with headers depending on brand and if they are used or not. You can get hooker super comps used on ebay for a great price.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that you have a risk of backfire because fuel can become trapped where the head meets the intake because of the ledge that is there.

You could also go the cheapest way and get a 2V intake that has a 4bbl flange so that you dont have to get an adapter. Check ebay for intakes, thats a good place and I have gotten many things there. I cant see you spending more than $150-200 on a new intake, about $75 on a used oned.

Good luck with everything.

oh ya, being that there is a chance that your head gasket is leaking because of the white smoke (Steam) then you need to remove the heads and replace the gaskets, so this would be a great time for you to change the heads too

Thanks NeoTokyo, you gave me a lot of options..... I've had the car since '94, the guy whom I got it from mentioned to me that the cam had been changed to a high performance, tranny had modification too, the heads had been modified... too what extend the modifications were I don't know, all I know that before I changed the carb/intake it used to run much better...

Thanks again for your input Neo..
