Im getting creaking noises from the steering ofan 03 mustang when I turn the steering wheel left and right.40k miles

It looks like it could only be a few things. Im guessing worn and dry steering rack bushings? Maybe worn inner or outer tierods?

I know its simple and maybe commonso someone must know what it is.

 

check fluid level?

same problem with me, replaced the sway links on both sides, turns likes new

 

i had the same problem . a little wd 40 on the lower spring seats and the noise went away. also ford has a tsb or ssm #17100 to replace the lower control arms for a similar condition.

 

ford also has a tsb to replace the brackets (hollow tubes ) that go through the rack and pinion. i replaced mine but the springs were the problem . good luck !
