Default 4.6 to 347????

Does someone make a kit to put a 5.0 into a 1998 GT??? I'd like to buy myself a block now and have a monster of an engine when I get out of college. But I LOVE my bodystyle and think my car is AWESOME, but I'd like to have a 5-speed 5.0

Is it too difficult, does someone make a kit?

If you have the money to buy a new 5 liter, and build it to a 347, you have more than enough for a PI swap, cams, a new bottom end, and some forced induction.

With a 347 not only will you have the headaches of swapping out engines (and it will be a headache) but you still need to buy heads, a cam, the bottom end, and the intake manifold (plus exaust and upper intake stuff).

Dollar for dollar you would be much wiser to stick with your 4.6 and build the hell outta it. If you really need more cubic inches they make stroker kits to turn it into a 5.0 or a 5.1L.

Ok, with cams, PI heads, a forged bottom end and FI, that puts me at:

Cams: $500, Heads and Intake $1300, Stroker kit to 5.0L $2,600, S/Cer $4,800 (www.vortechsupergargers.com)
= $9,200....

347 Longblock: $4,700 + S/Cer $2,700 = still less money AND a new engine.$7,400

5.0 Block $300, 347 assembly $900, heads $800, random crap $1.000 , S/Cer $1500 (used) = $4,500

I have an engine stand/hoist and all the tools necessary. It's a matter of CAN it be done with a kit of some sort, not is it a good idea...

A 5.0 would most likely need a new hood too.....
