How much more life does this tire have?
Approximately how many more miles do you think this tire will last before it needs to be replaced? I've actually never head to replace tires before due to them wearing out, so I'm not sure

Well check it every week, once you can see the top of his head clearly then its time to change them. If it were me I could stretch them 5000 miles more probably, but I ride easy.

Have you been rotating your tires front-to-back? Do this a couple times a year (depending on how much you drive) & makes all the tires wear down more evenly.
Your tire could either last the entire summer or be dead by this Sunday,, kinda depends on driving style Some people might consider your tires areoverdue for replacement allready

The penny trick is dumb. Look for "wear bars" in the grooves of the tread. They run across those little grooves...
When the tread surface is even with these bars, the tire is unsafe. Also check the edges of the tires to make sure there is still tread left and they are not going bald. Those tires could last for weeks or months depending on mileage, driving style, compound etc.

Remember how they felt when the tires were new? Driving in the rain wasn't nearly as scary as it is with old, worn tires. If the car doesn't feel safe anymore get new tires.
If the car isn't going to see any open road speeds in rainabove 35-40 mph the tires you have should be OK.The tires need to be safe to handle anything you can throw at them.Hydoplaning WILL completely ruin your day!!!!

I dont even bother using the penny method, you can doit by eye. When theresonly 1/8"-1/4" of tread left i get new ones. I also go by the wear bars usingthe same 1/8"-1/4" rule as they will do little or nothing for you in the rain at that point. They will not channel the water away fast enough. May as well be runnin slicks.
