Default Battery light question.....

I was driving and noticed the battery light on. Got home and shut the vehicle off. Went back to it and the battery light came on along with all the other lights when I keyed the ignition. Cranked vehicle, no light. Started vehicle a little while later and the battery light did not come on for the bulb test with the rest of the dash lights. Now the battery light does not come on at all.

Is there a replacable bulb in the cluster or is it attached to a board. Thanks in advance.

My first oppinion would be that your alternator is going - or possibly the serpentine belt is slipping on the alternator - or the alternator has a bad connection - but it's definately alternator-related...in my oppinion

My bad...didn't read the post thoroughly. I never heard of the light actually coming on in error due to a bad bulb, but I guess it could. I beleive there is a seperate bulb for the light.

Try the instrument diagnostis test. It claims to work only on 1999-2000 stangs but it works on my '02
