Default throw bearing leaking

I'm looking into a white GT (87) and I talked to the owner right now and he said that the throw bearing was leaking and whenever he let the car idle..it would whine..but as soon as he put the clutch in it would stop...then once he tried to grab a gear it wouldnt move...the car wouldn't go I assume it would just rev like it was in Neutral

A throwout bearing can't leak... Does he mean there is a leak in the hydraulic system? Try filling it up and bleeding the slave then see how it drives.

PLEASE don't post if you don't know what you are talking about....you cannot bleed a clutch on a foxbody....there is no slave cylinder....it all works off of cables and levers....

now, tell me...how big is this leak and where is it coming from? If it is where the engine and the bellhousing meet...sounds like a rear main seal, input shaft seal on the tranny, or a possible freeze plug in the back of the engine....easy to change when you are doing clutches...if it is leaking at the end of the tranny...sounds like a tailshaft seal...WAY easier to change....lemme know if this helps ya out...
