Default Bought my 2nd Stang this m

I bought a 95 GT three weeks ago and I ran across a 93 LX 5.0 that was just traded in at a local car lot yesterday. The dealer had no idea what he had. When I lifted the hood a Vortech supercharger was staring me in the face and I gladly handed over the $3600 he was asking for it!! But I don't know much about supercharges so I have some questions. The car has a boost/timing **** mounted under the cd player. What is that? What does it do? What should it be set on? It also has a GT-40 intake on it. I only know this because I can see it. I have no idea what other mods are on the car. I need to know what kind of charger it is. 5psi? 8psi? more? Is there any way to tell by looking at it? Also, I have a traction problem. The car just spins so bad I would probaly get beat by a damn civic or something. How can I get the car to hook? It has traction bars already. What else can I do? Please help!

The supercharger doen't have adjstable boost unless a wastegate was jerry rigged to the intake pipe to regulate the amount of air going into the motor. THe **** is more than likely to control the spark retard from the cabin. Most people adjust this at the very first sign of detonation.

There is no way of knowing what kind of boost yo'ure pushing unless you measure the pully attached to this supercharger and ask Vortech what psi that particular DIA pully is rated at.

Traction? Get drag radials. Or learn not to mash it off the line and to gradually lean into the throttle.

Try some lower and uppercontrol arms as well as the tires. Should plant your back tires better than the stock POS. Also, I havnt tried this yet so dont quote me but you can also try moving the battery to the trunk. The weight distribution is supposed to be better than with it being in the front of the car. Like I said, I have not tried it so I dont know how well it works but it might be worth a shot.
