i had the trans rebuild first thing when i got it. 4th gear was replaced, shift kit, and a whole new housing so the rear seal has about 2k miles on it.

what is a good price for the converter itself? anyone have a link to a good, affordable, 2200-2500rpm converter?

well im going to get a ford converter (2200-2400) and have it installed tomorrow.

its going to cost me $450 parts and labor. guess its not that bad.

with my mods, how much you think it will help my quarter mile?

too hard to say what it will do without more information about previous times and tires, etc. could be several tenths or maybe more all depends on tires and traction off the line.

damn, i didnt even think it was that high.

hey roundy, ive heard that the more hp/torque you have, the higher stall the converter will have (within reason of couse, give or take a couple hundred rpm), is that true?

oh ya, is $450 to much for parts and labor? thats the best he could do.....so he says

the rpm of the converter will change with more hp..this is what the give you a range of stall speed....something in the 22-2700 will work great..anything more will hurt milaege

the engine torque and where it comes on definitely affects the stall speed of the converter and higher torque tends to push the stall speed up also.
and $450 for the converter and the install is a damn good price if you ask me.
