Yeah hell yeah not much to it really.

Start by lifting or setting the car on jack stands.
Then disconnect the battery of course.
Then go on and disconnect the electric connections at the tranny marking them if your memory isnt too good, followed by removing the starter, tranny fluid, driveshaft, cooler lines and any vacuum lines or linkages (TV CABLE) if its an AOD.

At this time you have the cross member and the tranny bolts to remove what i like to do is get some grade 8 bolts to thread in that are 10 or so inches long or longer if you can find them and thread them in all the way on the sides and then place a floor jack under the tranny and remove the cross member. At this time the tranny is being held in by the floor jack and the longer bolts you put in as well as the convertors bolts after you unbolt the convertor from the flywheel now just wiggle side to side the tranny and floor jack and pull back this will free the convertor and tranny if its settled in its fit. Then just remove the convertor from the tranny smear some tranny fluid on the convertors hub so that it doesnt cut your gasket in the front pump and rotate it until it settles in it usually will click when its fully seated then reverse the procedure for installation.

But while its apart i highly suggest you look at you front and rear pump seals and remember to be clean you can never be to clean when working on cars especially the internals.Other than that take your time and evaluate the whole situation. Its simple man go for it and if you need help ill walk you through it.
