that's for sure MD..I do about every 5k.....your wasting $$$$ and oil doing syth @ 3k.....now when I buy a new car I change oil filter @ 250 miles then change oil @ 500..then 1k then 2500 then 7500 then every 5k. reson I do this is sometimes new engines will have casting flash that break loose. don't make the oil companies richer than the are. when oil is changed @ 5k using syth. it costs you no more than using reg. oil and changing @ 3k so a great benifit to you @ basically no more cost! with added gas mileage and 1-2% more hp..so it's free hp..what a deal huh?

Normally every 3000.. but since I just got this car, I havent even changed its oil yet!
Well.. the car lot I purchased from, did change it before they let me drive off..
But if every 3k, it's got about 700 left till it needs to be changed. I'll probably end up using a Synthetic blend.

The person before me was using organic oil (I assume) so the guys said it would be bad to go from oranic to syn. with a car having 58k miles on it...
I change it arond 3k, but it's more of a time thing for me vs. mileage.

usually every 3k with my truck (conventional), but prolly every 6k or so with the stang cause im putting in synthetic when im done with the engine. my grandpa only does it every like 12k miles on his mercedes S-class. that is what they suggest! pretty crazy what synthetic oils can do.

I change mine every 3k b/c i saw the s*** that came out when i change the oil the first day i got the car, and i dont even want to know how long it had been before an oil change

1) I change mine every 1500 miles
2) I lied, I don't change it in my mustang because it leaks oil
3) I lied again, I change it in the mustang every 3.5k miles
4) I changed the oil in my TT PGT every 2.5k miles
5) I never use synthetic oil b/c I am a cheap ****
6) I like to change it around 3k because I like to keep fresh additives in it + the more milage on the oil, the more acids, dirt, & sludge can build up
7) Another important thing to consider when deciding oil change intervals is how often you change oil filter
8) It is a bad idea to switch from minteral oil to synthetic or visa versa
9) You can never change your engine oil too frequently. The more you do it, the longer the engine will last. I mean comon, look at my mustang, I bought it with 71k miles on it, I put it up to 89k miles now it's broken.
