Default Door Problem!!!!

Alright heres the situation. My friend has a 2000 Mustang GT, the drivers side door was open and got hit off, so he got a new door and he had it on for a while. Then we took it off to paint it and now that we put it back on the door doesnt line up. We searched on other forums for tips on how to do it and it seems like no matter what we do, the door still sags about an inch low. So does he need new pins, or does he need new hinges, or what are we doing wrong. Thanks guys!

/agree.

Normally when you take something apart and re-assemble it and it doesn't work right, it's human-error.

I would assume that too, but no i mean we tried for like 3 hours to put the door back on, and always got the same result, all bolts are in, all bolts are tight, and still it sags, he was playing with one of the hinges (spinning it around) when it was off could that have ruined the pins? Thanks for your input, but i dont think we are doing anything wrong.

i believe the hinges are slotted. you may have to loosen the hinges and lift the door up and have your buddy tighten the bolts up while you hold it up.

I think the key is that the door was ripped off the chassis. I'd check the front pillar mounts for internal damage.
