If I replace my ECU with one from a donor vehicle will I need to take it to a dealer or will it work?

if it is an 01..yes...it will need to be reflashed with your info

The ECU has a program code on the box. If these codes match, no reprogram is necessary. If they are different, you'll need the ECU flashed with the right codes.

This would be a good time to go with an aftermarket ECU, however. Check out the options listed at www.fordfuelinjection.com.
