Counter Clockwise Tach

Counter Clockwise Tach
Looking for classic experience. I am a proud owner of a 1967 coupe. I have installed an MSD ignition system (6AL, distributor, and coil) a while back and am currently trying to install an aftermarket tach. I have a sunpro II, and well the light works great. The green pick up wire runs to the tach pick up terminal on the side of the msd box. The power lead (redwire) I have tried several different sources all seem to be at least accesory driven. Anyway with power applied the needle runs counter clockwise to the 8 grand marker. I started the car once and the needle sat between 6 and 7 grand, the car ofcourse an easy idle. I guess I really don't know where to get power on the on side of the ignition. The car was not originally equipped with a tach, just a basic model. If you have triumphed in this or a similar quest I am eager to know how. Thanks for any info you can share.

RE: Counter Clockwise Tach
The tach may just not be compatible with the MSD box. The instructions for the box do mention this, and MSD does offer a different tach drive, but it'd be cheaper just to buy an Autometer tach (which is what I use).
