Default RE: fixing my AC

You are just gettin warm air through the vents
because the pressure in the AC system has
dropped below that which is needed to keepthe compressor relay running. You can temporarilly
remove and short the terminals of the sensor located
on the right firewall with the MAX position motor
running in Park, Neutral and see the compressor
begin to turn.

This does not mean you will get cold air as the
system has leaked out.
If it is an R12 freon system you need to get a
kit to modify it to be a R134A system. $46 Advance auto.

After you have made the modifications you need to
pull a vacuum on the shrader valce on the compressor at least 23 pounds for a few hours.
If you have a major leak you will not be able to
pull this vacuum.
Next add the can of 8 oz of 134A oil.
Start the car and bypass the sensor Max air
and add the first can of 134a, put the can in a
bucket of warm water to keep it from freezing.
After it goes in ( can bottom is no longer cold),
You add the second can. By now the air comming
out of the vents will start to get cold.
After the third can you are done.
You now have COLD AC.

After you shut down the car and reinstall the sensor
the AC will work by itself.

In a few days if the AC does not work, you
just spent $46 to find out you have a LEAK

Sorry,
Now you need a professional....

If you have the newer quick connect couplers
you have R134A
If you have the screw on type you have the r12.
You can no longer get the r12
Plus if you can it is sxpen$ive.
