If the overflow is full and the radiator is empty, the hose connecting them is likely plugged. Also could be as simple as a radiator cap.

hey again guys and wow thanks for the enormous amount of response and info. however I worked all day (not to mention it rained like hell, so I have to wait til morning to try at it again.

what I mean by being overfilled is the fact that there is water (almost 100% water) filled over the "FULL HOT" line, in my plastic resevoir. But the radiator itself has almost nothing in it when I open the radiator cap on a cold engine.

my thoughts were to just get some engine coolant (which sadly hasnt been added to the radiator in a while, only water... pure stupidity), and drain, flush, and refill my radiator with coolant and water, and then see if the problem persists, or leaks, or what not.

my question earlier was where can I drain the radiator from, if you guys think that might be the problem in the first place.

Thanks again, I'll check back in the morning

if your looking straight at the engine, the drain plug will be at the bottom left of the radiator.
