more stress on the tranny by puttin short shifter on?

RE: more stress on the tranny by puttin short shifter on?
The new shifter changes the geometry of the lever that engages the gears. It does not induce more stress on the tranny itself. You could shift harder and put more stress on it by shifting harder. But the shifter itself has nothing to do with it, other than allowing for faster shifts.

A good shifter that has positive adjustable stops will actually potentially put less stress on the tranny, since the stops keep you from pushing the shifter too far and damaging the shift linkage

I think its just a matter of short sifter allowing you to shift faster. The faster the shift, the harder the synchros have to work to align in time. This will likely wear the synchros faster, but not at an astonishing rate. I wouldn't worry about it to much.
