Default air conditioning problem

I have a 96 gt conv, i love it but the air is blowing out hot air,, went and added freon but needed very little, the clutch is engaging for 3 second intervals on off on off ect. the lines going to the firewall are hot,, any suggestions, i got 45# of freon pressure when i try to add, that is the limit on my gauge.

You should have one hot line and one cold line.Make sure you're adding refrigerant to the low pressure (cold line) side of the system.Even if the compressor only cycles for a few seconds this line should be noticably cooler than the high side line.

Yea i believe i put it in the right one, i looked in the manual it had a pic..it really is the only one place to put it in on top near the firewall and i believe the fittings for the high -low are different,
thanks

Low side is the blue side was the sytem opend at all if so you may have moister in the system . or a clog in the system and that why it cycles on and off every 3 seconds the presure switch it kicking in probally .

I would suck it down completly get some ac flush and flush the system . evacutate the system and recharge it back up. if it still does cycle on and off for short periods of time you may need a presur switch which is on the evaporator it screws on an plugs in it can be change without losing the ac charge

RELATED QUESTION:
My air quit working recently, its full, and but the compressors will not kick on. On my 94 is the switch on the canister where the low pressure lines goes also? I think know what treaded switch your talking about, is that it? Change that out, and then go from there?
