RE: Improving 0-60
when you say go with the MAC..do you mean h-pipe? or catback? because i really want a deep sounding catback, that itsnt loud..
that brings me to another question...
ive been debating bassani ss and borla stingers for awhile, but is there anything else ,(maybe cheaper too) that is LOW, liek muscle car tone, and NOT TOO LOUD,, im looking for quality of sound, not quantity?
thanks again

RE: Improving 0-60
the only thing about going with flowmasters is that i have heard that there is a drone, or as you mentioned in another thread some other time,
the constant hum, and i do a lot of driving without my radio. so im not sure i want to deal with anything like that,,
in addition to that, everyone has flowmaster, i mean, not to knock the brand, or anyone who has it, but i want a tone that you dont hear quite as often, and i dont know if ive ever heard anyone with borla exhaust on the 99-04 gt's, that i know of anyway
but youre suggesting the MAC or h pipe huh? on part shopper, is that the one for 209?
and is a MAC going to keep the sound low and somewhat quieter than anything else?
thanks

Borla and Bassani cat backs are so overpriced. My friend bought a bassani catback and paid the same price i paid for my magnapacks and magnaflow catted x pipe. You could get an offroad x pipe and magnaflow catback for probally less than a borla or bassani catback. But it may not be the sound you are looking for

RE: Improving 0-60
yea beezy, i would have to agree that they may be overpriced, but right now i am in a situation where i can afford to pay for the tone i want
If borla stingers are going to give me my low rumble, i'll pay for it,
i have about 1200 dollars right now, for this summer, and im itching to spend it (after shopping around of course)
i'm still looking 200 o/r h, 650 catback, but if i could find borla for 400 somewhere, then i would have more htan 500 for gears, im looking at 3.73's right now (Because im scared to blow my car up with 4.10's)

I think the sound you are looking for will be achieved with the Borlas. I think the sound the Borlas make is much more refined and 'european' sounding. They don't have the 'rasp' that flowmasters and others give. Even though they are expensive, I prefer the sound of the Borlas better, myself.

RE: Improving 0-60
yea defintley get the gears. I would suggest 4.10s, but I don't know how much highway driving you do.
BBk o/r H 150
Stingers 440
02s, MIL elimantors - 90
thats about $680.
That leaves you about $500 for the gears. The gears will be about $150, and then install i'm not sure b/c estimates vary. I would say from my experience in the $250-$350 range, but I didnt look too hard. You'll still have a little cash left over which is always nice.
And I don't think Borla is overpriced, Borla is known for being top of the line in quality, and the sound is just a little different, which I love, b/c I wanted a deep refined sound, and I defintley got it.

RE: Improving 0-60
i know that if i were to get 4.10's, i would have more power in the first place , but what are the risks of them, opposed to 3.73's
im a relatively unexperiance driver, i mean, im 19, adn i still drive an auto during the winter, and when i dont drive my mustang
ive heard people mention that 4.10s you'll do alot more winding out gears if not careful, and i dotn want to do too much abuse to my car,
i have no worries about highway mileage though, and not too concerened about premium costing too much either.. so what would you do
remember, i want to be fast to just above the speed limit while not destroying my car

Borla and bassani all the way.....Borla is expensive because its stainless and warrantied for life ,Bassani has a sound noone else has and on supercharged cars it sounds sick!! In my opinion anyways.... You get what you pay for
