Default Turning back the odometer? Help please

Before I put the gear in to fix my speedo from having the 3.73s in, I gave away about 6,000 miles. I want to turn the odometer back. Is this easy to do? I've done it on 2 other cars before (put new motors in) and it was just take the dash plate off, pull the odometer and spin the gear with a drill with a soft rubber tip on the end. Is it that easy to do on my car? I just wanna roll it back about 6,000 miles or so. I'm not trying to f*ck anyone seeing has how I just got the car a few months ago and i'm keeping it for a long time. Thanks

Nope. Get a new speedo. Rolling back a modern speedo isn't like the old ones.

If you're going to keep the car, why worry about 6k miles?

It just really annoys me know that there's a lot less miles on it than it shows. It's honestly probably more toward 10,000 miles but I wanted to turn it back about 6,000

If it makes you feel better, I lost about 1500 mile when I put in my 3.73 gear. There's nothing you can do thatI know of unless you stuck in a much lower gear from stock(3.27). I' ve never heard of anybody doing this. No body will ever believe you anyways, so grin and bare it like I did.

No problem easy fix.

Leave it disconnected until you feel you have racked up those lost miles.

I heard from a friend of mine that there is a 'black box' in the newer vehicles that like records info on the car? Like how its driven, seconds before a collision etc. I don't know if it is true butI wouldn't risk disconnecting the speedo for 6k miles...with it being illegal and all.
Just my opinon.
