First of all, welcome to the forums. I have a 99 mustang gt and i wondered that some thing when i got my car. Just go pick up a 5.0 mustang magazine(dont let the name fool you, its got tons of 4.6l stuff in there) there are at least 5 ads with cams in there. Im guessing you meaning rear end gears? Chances are, you have the 3.27 gear in your car. At least go with the 3.73's if not the 4.10's. 3.55 would be a waste of money. I drive my car everyday, and i cant tell a bit of difference in gas milage(driving conservitively). Good luck with the cams. save up your money, and get your heads ported and polished while you've got everything apart.

I like my Crowers... but you have to have the heads done to run smooth.

3.73 gears on the GT work well

I beileve the website for VT is http://www.vtengines.com/

Two things about cam install.

1. I do not recommend it for a novice, or even a shadetree type. At least have a pro on hand to help out.

2. DO HEADWORK with the cams. I am seriously considering the stage 2s from patriot performance. The difference is having a 290 ish RWHP car and a 310+ RWHP car.

High lift cams with lits of overlap are great if you have a power adder... aka blower.

Make sure you get good springs too.

There is little if any difference in the everyday drivablity of stage 2 vs stage 1. My car is 100 percent steetable, even with this crap tune i Have.
