Unless your really good with a stick, and I mean really really good, stick with the auto, but put a shifter on.
Tires... Hoosier makes a good slick. Or Goodyear. But your gonna need some wider rims. You can also go with some DOT approved drag radials so you can drive it to the track. But be careful if you run into some water. It will be like driving on ice.

OK, so now you are going to want to pull off ALL your smog equipment as well. Forget about the drag radials. Remap your computer for a more aggressive tune. Although you'll have to remap it when you install the blower.

What about suspension? (I bought a 1300 Bear brake kit, but that was about a year an a half ago, Is it time for new ones?)

New ones what? Brake Pads? ???? Ask your mechanic. The breaks you have on it should be fine.

Right now, I wouldn't do anything. I would wait until you have enough HP to get the front end in the air to warrant it. Spend your money on the fun go fast parts now. Make sure your front brakes are good. Not stopping from that speed can really ruin your day.

P.S. A roll cage will need to be added sooner or later depending on how fast you go. Call your local drag strip to find out the details. If you go faster than you safety equipment will allow, they will take great pleasure in kicking your A$$ right off the track.
