I was wondering if theres anyone out there that might know the final gear ratio of the AOD that is offerred in a 1990 5.0. I use to have a 92 5.0 with the t5 in it, I installed 3:73 gears and loved it. I am looking for whichever rear gear ratio out there that would give the AOD a similar drive ratio as a t5 with 3:73's. Also has anyone out there dropped in a set of the 3:90's, you never really hear of anyone using that gear ratio, is there something inherintly bad about that one? Any help anyone out there could dispense would be greatly appreciated.

The OD ratio for the AODE is .70

I think the 3:90 gear is still fairly a new gear for the 8.8 rear so that's why you probably don't hear much about them. It's a good compromise between 3:73's and 4:10's

I know of this guy that put in a 3.89 rearend gear in his 1968 and he loves it. He has a T-5.
