Default Toyo Tires

What's the general consensus on Toyo proxes tires? My Gatorbacks are about wore out and the local tire dealer has the Toyos for $117.00. I don't think the Goodyears are worth the money...I am on a limited budget here. Also since the car has been lowered 1.5"-2" how much wider than stock do you think I can go?

Thanks!

What do you want out of your tires? Ulimate performance? God dry and wet performance? What are you looking for?

I hear Toyo tires are actually pretty good. I just never look at them because they are usually high priced, so if you can get them at that price, that is a steal. I don't know about the stock GT tire sizes, are they 245x45x17s? I would think you should have no problem with putting 315x35x17s if you chose that route, but then again, I don't know how the wheel wells are on GTs. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I am looking for a good dry\wet tire.

Yes, stock tires are 245/45/17. I don't want a taller or shorter tire so the speedo will be correct. Maybe a little wider will help it launch a little better. I know on the 02's they sat real high with a lot of wheel well space. With the different springs it sits almost 2" lower than stock. It should have come factory like this IMHO. Most people can't tell its lower unless they are into Mustangs or know what they see.

This isn't a real good pic but maybe you can get a idea of wheel well clearence.

Take a look at the Bridgestone SO3's. Phenominal dry/wet tire.

I bought my 275 falcon ziex tires for 110 a peice. I really like them. They are good wet and dry and the added width helps with traction as long as you dont post hi hp #'s

I have 275/35/18's Kumho ECSTA 712's, they seem to be a good low price tire. You will definately be able to go at least 275's, I noticed a big difference traction wise btwn. my 245's and my 275's.

Thanks,

So you guys figure I can go 275\45\17 safely. Yes, I hope they would get a little more traction as the 3:73's will be put it soon!!
