Transmission difference?

Transmission difference?
Wondering if there is a difference between the the 79-86 5-speed tranny and the 87-93 5-speed tranny. Curious becuase i am looking for a trans and can find an 87-93 for less than $400 however i have found a couple 1980-1984 transmissions for about $250
