Default Exhaust Tip Question

I have a Magnaflow X pipe (catted) and American Thunder Flowmasters on my GT. The sound is great but I don't like the way the pipes look out the back. I've done some research on this site and others and found that SLP makes3.5" double walled tips for their exhaust and I really like the way it looks. It seems to be a bolt on and costs $59 each.
[ol][*]Would it be crazy to have the Flowmaster catback with SLP tips?[*]Does anyone have or has seen this set-up?[*]Will the larger tips change the sound significantly?[*]How would the install go?[/ol]
I'm looking to order in the next week or so. Thanks for any suggestions or feedback.

1) that would be like "is it crazy to have flowmaster catbacks on a bassanni xpipe?". no...whatever floats ur boat. theres no written law that says you have to have one company for your entire exhaust
2) just look at pics of someones slp catback
3) probably not, your not changing overall pipe diameter, midpipe, or mufflers
4) take it to an exhaust shop and have em welded on?

Thanks. I think I'm just going to order them this weekend. I'll post pics as soon as they are welded on. Thanks for the weld tip...I would hate to loose them.

Pick the tips you want, Have a shop cut off the old ones and weld in the new ones

I use to fixate about how my tips looked/ getting them to be perfect, but after about 6 tries of adjustment I said screw it and left them alone. Now one tip is slightly lower than the other...

Well, I got them and I love them. They look great.

One unintentional advantage is that the dreaded drone from my flowmasters seems to be gone. I'm not sure why though. It could be the heavier weight of the tips and/or the larger diameter (the tips are 15" long).

So I have the Magnaflow X pipe with FLowmasters and SLP 3 1/2" tips. It sounds great and looks good too.
