I was parking my car today and when I went to turn the car off, It wouldn't shut off. I turned the ignition switch back and forth trying to get it to cut off. I went and bought a new ignition lock switch and I still have the same problem. The cylinder twists back and forth without turning the car off, it will start though. Any help or ideas would be great!

 

there is a recall on that......had mine done a few months back,and mine's an 88.ask ford about it.

 

My car is a 1995 and I just looked up Ford's recall page entered my VIN # and the only thing that came up is for a hood. Is this recall somthing they have found out recently?

 

no....you should of pulled up a parking brake recall.....maybe it was only pre 93 cars?????

 

There was a parking brake recall, my fault I was looking for a ignition recall or something. Does the parking brake affect the ignition system??

 

the igintion was recalled they did mine twice....I think in your case the ignition cyl..has woren out..the recall was because the key switch shorted out and caused fires.....my car would quit if I turn a hard left or right,plus the defogger and blinkers quit working as well as the defroster and ac...
