gas smell

Default gas smell

tonight when i drove my car to the store i got a strong smell of gas inside the car. where should i start to find the problem? it is a 95 gt edelbrock heads, upper and lower intake, fuel pressure regulator, 70mm bbk throttle body, bbk cold air intake with 75mm ProM mass air meter with 24lb injection, 255lph fuel pump. thanks for your help.

Start with your gas cap.

Do you have an off-road midpipe by any chance?

also, check under the car to see if there has been any fuel that has leaked down on the ground. that could help you pin point the probably possibly. also check all carpet (feeling it) to see if it is wet or damp from gas. that will help you find the problem.

look under the hood and check the fuel lines to see if there is any sign of a leak anywhere first.

look for any wet spots on the lines and connections....it just takes 1 drop the fill the car up with gas smell....this is nothing to let go on...

i have seen a lot of cases that the rubber grommet around the hole in the gastank and the hose that you put the gas in at the station falls apart. mine just practically gone id check that its like a 20 dollar rubber thing and about 30 mins to put in
