Default Tire size.

Im just wondering where i can find out what tire size I can use for a 16x7 wheel. they say to use 225-55-16 but i cant seem to find that many tires in that size. is there any web sites i can find this info on. i searched google and couldnt find anything. any help is appreciative. thank you

I assume that's your stang in the avatar? On a 16x7 rim, you could probably go with 225 of 245 width-wise. I actually have 225-50-16 on the front and 245-50-16 on the back of mine... it works out pretty well. Thickness is up to you, I guess anywhere from 50-60 would be good? No offense, but that must suck to only be able to go to a 245 tire. Check out some of these guys with 335 street tires. it looks awesome

im sorry i forgot to mention its my 92 lx 5.0 project. i dont have 2000 gt anymore. so it has the stock 16x7 ponys. so your saying i could go with say 225-50-16 up front and like 245-x-16 in the back.

i checked out summit and looks like the widest tire i can get for a 7 inch is 235. and i found that smaller sizes like 215 and 205 will fit but theres no way in hell im going with a more narrow tire. thanks for everyones help.

I only have the 245's, but then again, my GT isn't a project car.......... yet. I'm sure you could do that setup, but if it's a "project" car, then yeah I'd go for a wider tire.
