Default Insurance Question

Well..I'll be 16 in december..and guess what I want? lol..anyway, I was just wondering what a rough estimate would be for insurance for a Mustang and then also for a GT. If anyone needs some more info. just ask, if it's not really possible to estimate it then i'm sorry, Just looking for somebody who has hopefully been in this situation.

Also, please don't tell me the car is not safe for me or w/e..Thats really not what i'm here for guys..lol..

Thanks in advance.

i wouldnt get a GT as a first car, but then again im not your mom and i have no real care what car you buy so long as if you get in an accident im not involved just giving you some experienced advise. ive seen alot of my dumbass friends and myself do some really stupid **** in fast cars when we were 16 and from a slightly older standpoint i would not suggest a v8 mustang for a first car.

call your insurance company...they can give you EXACT price quotes, not guestimates from people on a forum.

when i was 16-17 i believe i remember my dad saying my unsurance on a 00 v6 was 2500$ for 6 months liability only. could be off but i think thats what he said. i pay 730$ for 6 months full coverage right now on an 03 GTbut im also 22 and i have a fairly clean driving record.

I am paying a couple of $1,000s a year for my son driving a 1999 Ford Ranger. I can't even imagine how expensive it would be for a Stang.

i had a 96 V6 mustang convertable for my first car and my car now is even less than that was. For some reason insurance companies rate LX's much cheaper than GT's even though its the same engine, ect. except for different bumpers dont ask me why. And the 5.0's stock arent that quick which will help to keep you from killing yourself and when you want to add power down the road the possibilities are endless. Just an idea

damn i was probably right on my memory then. yeah bottom line no car you get when your 16 will be cheap on insurance, and anything "sporty" will go through the roof (most any hatchback even a 4cyl non vtec eclipse)

They also give u good discounts like multi car, college, and 3.0 or better discount...im a dumbass so I dont get any but anyways State Farm FTW!!!

Well this should help! My son just turned 16. I got him a 01 GT convert. It cost me $183 per mo. With the good student discount from State Farm. Hell it was $155 per mo, to insure him on my 02 Avalanche. Don't let everybody give you s... about the the GT first car crap. Enjoy the car but be safe. Heck you can kill yourself in a Volts wagon! I know today when my son left for school the glare from his grin was priceless!
