well i took it to the parts store where they will do a check engine scan for free and the problem was the throttle position sencor. i installed the new 1 and it ran a lil tiny bit better, but still aweful. then as i was sitting there it started to come back to normal. the engine light stayed on so i took it back to see if anymore codes needed to be addressed and all i got was an emmisions code.

so then as everything seemed normal i took it up to the store and when i got back it would start again. it was like it was before i installed the TPS but worse cause i couldnt even get it to start, let alone idle. so as i called for a ride like 5 mins later, i tryed again and it started right up and ran smooth home. i stopped at the parts store 1 last time (you know they hate me now ) and the same emmitions coda came up and he sold me a fuel filter and some injector cleaner and fuel line anti-freeze. i have yet to try it this morning and i want to install the filter before i fill up the tank and add the additives.

any other recomendations would be awsome, as if this dont fix it completely im gonna give up and take it in and spend tons of $$$$$.

 

you know on those cars you can run a scan from the radio...now i'm not sure if it will show you whats wrong with car such as what your problem was but if you have a manual it shows you how to do it with the radio

 

thanks, ill look into it. i just installed the filter and now the idle is high and the tach has to be above 3.5 to shift gears now.....WTF?
i parked it in the back yard and i guess im waiting till next month when i get paid so i can take it to a shop[:@]

 

Haha, those parts stores will suggest a new fuel filter and injector cleaner for a rod knock.

You need to get your car into a shop and let a mechanic look at it. It sounds like you don't have any clue where to start.

 

i would just pull the codes myself, i dont know about a concord but most vehicles are pretty easy to pull, get a manual if you dont have one. KOEO (key on engine off) test has never failed me yet.
