Horrible Gasoline smell... what is it?
I am curious.. My check engine light is on... need to get that checked... but everyone I know with a Mustang of my year has theirs pop on about the same mileage
But
Now... My car smells like gasoline alllll the time.... What do I look for to check and see if its a gas leak? Or what else could it be? I cant pay 100 bucks an hour for someone to diagnostics it... so... any help is appreciated

RE: Horrible Gasoline smell... what is it?
what year is the car, how many miles, what kind of car, what motor, things like these will help diagnose.
if it is a 99-04 there is a problem with the fuel filler neck, a gasket or rubber grommet goes bad and this may be the source of your fuel leak, and that would also trip the CEL.

You may be getting fumes from a leak or fumes from a hole perhaps in the top of your gas tank. You don't actually need to see dripping gasoline from somewhere.Get it fixed asap. It's one of those issues where you shouldn'tput off. It's probably related to your cel.

For the check engine light you can take it to autozone and they will run a diagnostic on it for free. For the fuel smell i just recently had the same problem on my 95 it ended up being the rubber grommet between the tank and the filler neck. It was a $30 part and it took about an hour to change, including dropping the tank.
